Trip to Malaysia (KL + Mallaca) part 1

I really want to publish this last month but because my poor internet connection so I postponed it.
Here I will tell you guys about my 2nd experience visit Malaysia. The 1st time I went there I didn’t took a walk or did tourist things, I just went to check up because I was in bad condition back then.

Now, I went there for 6 days 5 night but technically I just spent 4days at there. Why? Because my flight to KL was in Night and I arrived there at midnight and I returned to Jakarta in the morning, so 4days left to explore Malaysia. Right? Hahahaha

Selfie right before heading to airport

As soon as I arrived at the airport and do a lot of things like immigration and else, I took a cab to Mallaca, Southern Malaysia (I think). It took me about 2hours and cost RM160 (note: You must buy the cab ticket at the airport or it will cost you so expensive even double price). After I arrived at Mallaca, my uncle asked the driver to stop us at Heritage Hotel, the Hotel that he and his wife used to stay when they were in Mallaca and this is their more than 10times visit here! After we check in to the hotel that was not look like a hotel but a simple and small guest house, we have a midnight meal at restaurant near there. I really not expect there was some restaurants that still open at 1PM!

Oh, FYI, the Heritage Hotel is like a small guest house with small room and super tiny bathroom which cost RM 60 for the room I stayed. For my mom, it’s clean and still okay but for me, it’s quiet dirty but not too dirty. I’m so not comfortable with a guest house. I don’t like to stay in a guest house but I can’t complain because of my aunt and my uncle who already kindhearted to guide my mom and I at there and also my mom who always asked and pursued me to be patient and learn to be more simple person. So, I just be more patient and sometimes do a little“ngedumel”.

Because I was not so comfortable with the hotel, every evening I stayed and sat in the chair in the pedestarian street in front of the hotel until 10-11 PM and then back to my room and tried to sleep.
1st day which is I mean the day after I arrived there, I went to Mahkota Hospital to check up my mom’s health because she had a problem with her disgestion. We spent half of the day at the hospital because of the super crowded queue. After back from Hospital, we back to Hotel for a short time rest like 20-30 mins and we went to Dataran Pahlawan MegaMall, Parkson and Mahkota Parade. It’s so near and we only need to walk to there. All malls are connected each other so we can go to all mall in a day! On the afternoon till evening, My aunt, mom and me went to Red Square which is Mallaca Heritage Centre by walking also and it’s really near the mall and there’s an easy way to reach there from the mall rather walking on the pedestrian street with the super hot sunny day.

We went to St Paul Hill, Christ Church, Queen Victoria Fountain, Maritime Museum, Menara Taming Sari and walking along the Mallaca River. We passed the Jonker Walk because we think it would look alike with all China Town in the world. There will be foodstall, and selling items stall.

Actually St Paul Hill is not really hard to reach even it is a hill. We only need to takes about less than 50 stairs to reach the St Paul church on the top. From the top, you can see the views of entire Mallaca. Maybe you feel weird why the stairs are less than other hill (and of course we don’t be feel tired after take the stairs to the hill) but we can see the entire of Mallaca from there. Actually the land contour before you takes the stairs are quite like you walking uphill so that’s why the contour of the land are quite high and we don’t need to take a lot if stairs to reach the top like other hill.

After you reach the top, you’ll see St Francis Xavier statue (if you take the same path like me, if not, you will see the St Paul church first on the other side and walking a bit and you’ll find the statue). I read on other blog, they said when the statue built, there was like a normal human but in the night after the statue just being built, there was a branch of tree that fall off and broken the right hand of St Francis Xavier statue.
In the church, you’ll see a lot of stone. I don’t know if it is a real or not. And in the middle you will see a big (not huge) fey that look like a house rooftop, it is a well! You can throw any coin into there. I don’t know you can pray a lucky wishes or else but I pray my wishes when I throw my coins.
From there, you can go down on the other side (the path I didn’t take when I go up) and see a San Portiago gate and a cemetery.

After from there, I went to Christ Church and Queen Victoria Fountain which is located in front of the christ church. They said, the fountain was a gift from Queen Victoria back then. FYI, Christ Church is still use to do worship for Christian People until now (not Catholic). Catholic people use St Francis Xavier church which is located in old Mallaca which is not really far from the Christ Church.
After that we walked along the Mallaca River and sometimes spot heritage things and took a photo at there. Walked along the Mallaca River and then we spot the Maritime Museum. I didn’t enter the ship because there’s no one enter that so I feel a little scare to enter there because it is a real ship and place at there for centuries.

We spot Menara Taming Sari and we didn’t want to took that because it spent money and better I take any ... in Dufan In Jakarta. We took dinner in India Restaurant near there and I ordered a fish meatball soup for the food and lime with apricot for beverage. I love the drink! It is so sour yet fresh.

2nd day, we went to visit Muar, another province in Mallaca. We took a bus to Melaka Central that cost RM 1,50 / person and RM 5 take a bus to Muar. Muar is a province near Johor Bahru. We only take a walk there to look how Muar looks like. We went to a Market near the Bus stop. It is look like China Town (yes, another china town) and we had lunch at the chinese restaurant and ordered pork rice at there. What’s make me excited visit there when we entered a book store (yes, I loved when I was in a book store) and I found a lot of Japanese Magazine in magazine section were in super duper cheapest price I ever seen! I bought ViVi Magazine January 2014 edition only for RM 9 and Popteen July 2012 for RM 3!!! Can you imagine how happy I am? I would like to bought a lot of magazines but mom didn’t allow me because we didn’t buy any luggage baggage for the return flight.

After that I went back to Mallaca. Oh, I also move to other hotel which is soooo more comfortable and it is a REAL HOTEL NOT GUEST HOUSE that cost RM 102 or 120 ( I didn’t remember). The hotel named Fenix Inn. Unfortunately there were not any elevator at there but I didn’t mind it as long it is a Hotel and it is clean + comfortable. Plus, the worker at there are still young like 20-30 years old so they can speak Melayu, Chinese even English and the men workers are sooooo handsome :p (LOL) He even understand what I said in Bahasa with my Uncle and He (the men worker) reply me in Bahasa but He talked with my uncle with Chinese. ( I can’t speak chinese but I understand a lil bit)

What I like from Fenix Inn Hotel beside the handsome men workers (LOL) and the clean + comfortable room, I like their TV channel provided. They even has star world channel, BBC and some western channel. I like to watch star world channel all night long when I was in my room hahaha. My mom even scold me because I better stayed in the room than took a walk or sat in the pedestrian street which is we can’t do if we are in Jakarta.

The third day in the morning, we heading to Kuala Lumpur with rent a car from the hotel to the bus station. It took us 2hours and half from the Melaka Central to Puduraya Station in KL. From Puduraya, we took a walk to China Town to search any hotel for us to stay. My cousin and her husband like to stay in Ibis Hotel which is located in Bukit Bintang but my Uncle wanted to stay in China Town area so they just followed their dad. Sooooo, we ended up stay in Nan Yeang Hotel which is A GUEST HOUSE AGAIN (hell yeah!) but better than Heritage Hotel. It is because of my mom’s fault. She recommended them (My uncle, aunt, cousin and cousin in law) to stayed at there because we ever stayed at there before. My cousin and her husband stayed in the 5 elements hotel beside the Nan Yeang Hotel because my cousin always wanted to stay in a good hotel.

Like the other nights in Heritage Hotel, I always spent my evening till night outside my room but in here, I like to stayed in the lobby while snacking and chatting through line with my friends and sister or I will take a walk around the China Town again, again and again.
